Ever since asians have been portraited on the media , it has been mostly in negative images, from the evil Dr Ming to the later villians of other tv movies,series or
Miss Saigon aka Miss Butterfly play on the stage about the story about a viet girls affair with an american G.I, the popular image in the media is the white guy in shining armor coming to
save the asian girl . Its this type of stereotyping that gives many the idea that the typical asian guy looks down on women or seen as the typical nerdy who doesn't know what to do when a woman is around or is to busy with a computer project or learning kung fu. Unfortunately its these images on the media that give people the wrong images to others and even to some of the asian girls that makes them believe its just better to act white. It makes the asian girl think that she will end up like those characters in the movies,shows if she sticks to her asian roots, but if she goes wth a white guy its gonan give her more freedom and also that if she has mixed babies they gonna look cuter.
Something that is sad to watch is how some minority groups comedians idea of jokes is to make fun of their culture and heritage. Here are some korean/american comedians giving their act on the stage.
Sung Hee park is another korean stand up comdian who jokes about the asian stereotypes but her make fun of her korean roots is less racist then the previous video, watch how the asian comedian girls cant think of other topics as a source for their jokes, but Sung Hee Park is actually funny :)
